The Experience, Alameda: Almanac Beer Co. Beer Week Events

The Experience:

Blueberry Dogpatch Sour’s Debut + Beer Week Events!

New sour alert! Almanac’s Dogpatch series is named after the neighborhood in San Francisco where Almanac was born. This limited-edition blueberry twist started with a classic Flanders red ale base that then aged for months in oak wine barrels with fresh blueberries from Sierra Cascade Blueberry Farm, a family-owned and operated farm in the foothills east of Chico, CA. The farm has been certified organic since 1993, and they’re thrilled to feature their incredible berries in this one-of-a-kind sour.

Blueberry Dogpatch Sour is available NOW in the taproom and shipping via our webstore. Rolling into limited distribution next week!

The Experience, Alameda: Rhythmix Cultural Works Stage

The Experience:

Words That Made the Difference: BROWN vs the BOARD OF EDUCATION

Join Rhythmix for an in-person stage performance Saturday, February 26 at 7pm! Words That Made the Difference: Brown vs. the Board of Education, a play written and directed by Dr. Cindy Acker, Ed.D, is based on actual events in the fight to end school segregation and is set in the courtrooms of history, capturing the real words in court cases that culminated in Brown vs. The Board of Education.

The script draws from trial transcripts of the five cases that were brought together in front of the Supreme Court and from Chief Justice Earl Warren’s memoirs. The words of Brown took effect years after the legal ruling.

Brown vs. the Board of Education has continued meaning as the nation struggles with the need to be an anti-racist society. Our recent awareness of pervasive discrimination and otherness still present in our nation is a reminder that the work for equity and social justice is still crucial.

Runtime: 1hr 45 min

The Experience, Alameda: Alameda Island Brewing Co. Fresh Beer

The Experience:

Enjoy a Brew in Island Comfort!

Ready for an Island Haze (Hazy IPA) with notes of mandarin and pineapple? Or a  Coastal Classic IPA with hints of pine and citrus? Head on down to Alameda Island Brewing for an afternoon tasting with your friends, a night out or to buy a keg. They are open until 10 and can’t wait to see you!

Something for Everyone. They take these words seriously. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time or hundredth time there, they want to make you feel like you’re right at home. Grab some food from one of their neighboring restaurants and make yourself at home – this is everyone’s living room!

The brewery’s main production facility and original taproom are located at 1716 Park Street just off the Park St Bridge in the heart of downtown Alameda. This was the original site of the Cavanaugh Motors building (1948), the second Chrysler dealership ever established in California. Owners Matt and Bill chose this building for its unique history as well as its great location. Note their classy new window signage.

Bring your friends down to the taproom and enjoy their covered and heated patio. Hours: Tues – Sat 12-10pm; Sun 12-7pm.

Covid notes: Masks must be worn inside the taproom and please social distance. You can remove your mask when actively eating or drinking.
