Emeryville Connexions’ Happy Hour at Fogo de Chao at Bay St on Oct 23 was a smashing success!

Over 50 business folks gathered in the beautiful airy event venue at Fogo to eat, drink, and have conversations. Mayor Welch, Vice Mayor Mourra and Community Development Director Chad Smalley mingled with guests and the Emeryville Commerce Connection (ECC) Board of Directors, Emeryville Makers, Biotech, Tech & Hospitality folks, Innovators, Artists, and more.

Board chair Christa Williams of Bay St impressed upon the audience the importance of joining the ECC to keep Emeryville healthy and vibrant.

The appetizers were amazing  complemented by the beer and wine. Fogo de Chao was a generous host! They even raffled off a Dinner for Two which was won by Luis Cabrera from PAXIO – Dedicated Fiber Internet.

The Experience, Alameda: Faction Brewing Co Autumn Bliss

Treat yourself to Faction’s Harvest IPA – a fresh hop IPA brewed with just-picked Mosaic hops straight from Coleman Agriculture, and a ‘wet/dry’ hop combo with HBC 586 from Perrault Farms. According to the brewery crew, it’s packing that perfect punch of fresh, juicy hop goodness [6.9%]. So, skip the pumpkin spice and grab a pint of the real fall flavor.

On another note: Meet Commando 450: A West Coast IPA powered by a triple threat of Nelson, Galaxy, and Mosaic hops [6.7%]. This brew means business and is available in cans! Happenings:

Tonight, Thurs, Oct 24 at Faction: It’s Hops for Hunger from 5-7pm. Drink good, do good!  Faction and Super Mario’s are  teaming up with the Alameda Food Bank to support families in need. Live music from Friends of Ken will keep the vibes going while you sip and donate. A percentage of proceeds and your donations will help over 1,200 families a week.

Sat/Sun, Oct 26/27 from 11am to 6pm. The Sazon Latin Food Festival is happening! A family-friendly fiesta featuring delicious Latin cuisine from all corners of Latin America, live salsa music, and a vibrant atmosphere that’ll have you dancing between bites. Free admission!

RPM3 Jazz Trio is a highly swinging band devoted to personalized renditions of jazz classics, standards from the Great American Songbook, and Brazilian gems. The members are Bay Area jazz stalwarts: Jazz guitarist/arranger/composer Tony Corman, bassist Karl Hartmann, and drummer Gerry Kennett. Music starts at 6pm.

Music and wine…the perfect pairing!

Featured here is the Grazioso Grenache Blanc. Bright and crisp. Young apricot and young peach flavors on the tongue. In the nose subtle white pepper and spice.

Feel conflicted between seafood and pasta? Try their special Fettuccine Seafood Garlic Alfredo with prawns and scallops!

Some of their  Mediterranean favorites: The Orzo and Salmon is served with baby spinach, mushrooms and roasted tomatoes in a vodka garlic sauce and the Homemade Gnocchi with Pesto is made with a pesto sauce with mushrooms and roasted cherry tomatoes. Another big hit, the Lamb Paidakia is a Greek marinated and grilled lamb chop served with a hot Greek potato salad with roasted red potatoes, cauliflower, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, arugula and crispy polenta.
