Halloween Shopping Spurs Holiday Spirit!

It’s not too late to create your Halloween scene – Whales &  Friends has you covered from Cheerful to Ghoulish or Spooky. That celebratory spirit is filling up the store as they start bringing out the ornaments and gifts for the rest of the holidays. Staff is waiting to help you, starting with Halloween accents for your home. You can pick your favorite Halloween pillows, ornaments, and other fun décor to create some Halloween cheer.

Be sure to browse their gift ideas before you leave, especially their curated collection of hand crafted jewelry, including their own beautiful expanded line – Bamboo Jewelry. It’s hand crafted by fusing kiln fired powdered glass onto a sterling silver foundation, a centuries old process known as cloisonné – showcasing favorite birds, whales and other marine animals, panda bears, elephants, turtles, butterflies, and more.

Give the Gift of  Art for the Holidays!

Visit the Frank Bette Center for the Arts November 27 – December 18 and enjoy a cultural experience while shopping for holiday gifts and supporting local artists.

Every year the Frank Bette Center for the Arts turns its galleries into a wonderland of art created by talented artisans. They will
feature one-of-a-kind jewelry, paper fiber arts, prints, ceramics/mosaics, wood, glass, and framed two-dimensional art works 12’x12” or smaller. This year they will have some surprise pieces for sale.

The first reception will be held Friday, November 26 from 6-8pm and they will be open Thursday afternoons as well as Friday- Sunday 11am-5pm during the month of December.

The Experience, Emeryville: Bay St Shopping Mall

The Experience:

Holiday Shopping + Afternoon Jazz!

This weekend is the perfect time to head down to Bay St. and choose your tree for the holidays. Speer Family Farms has filled the Hyatt Place Plaza with hand picked and fresh cut Noble Fir, Douglas Fir, and Silver Tip trees and wreaths. Also available are live trees, fire retardant, and pre-lit trees. Bay St is open Mon- Wed 10am-8pm, Thur – Sat 10am – 9pm, and Sun 11am – 6pm.

You can stop for a bite to eat at California Pizza Kitchen, Pizza My Heart, PF Chang’s Chinese Bistro, or Red Mango – yogurt, smoothies, and juices. Lots of stores are open from clothing to furniture and accessories to cosmetics, shoes, everything Apple, and of course, a real live book store!

Bay St Live plays Fridays @5 in the plaza and Jazz Up Your Holidays plays from 2pm – 5pm on the weekends: Dec 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20. Enjoy free curbside parking with a 30 minute limit. Check out Bay St Emeryville’s Facebook page and enter a photo contest with your dog for a $200 gift certificate and a contest with a photo of your favorite ornament for a free Christmas Tree to be given away on Deember 11.
