It’s a ‘save the dogs’ weekend!

First off, on Saturday, April 12, from 12-6pm, enjoy Alameda Punks Parade Vol 7. It’s a Craft Faire and Rocket Dog Rescue Fundraiser:

  • 60 Unique Vendors
  • Draft beer
  • Food trucks &
  • On-site pet adoptions

And then on Sunday, April 13, there’s a Singles Mingle from 3-7pm with Oakland Animal Services PUP-UP from 3-5pm!

Join them for great music, delicious food, and a wide selection of tasty beers!

Their party will be centered amongst the green table-tops but you will have access to the entire outdoor area. Feel free to bring friends and simply show up – no tickets or RSVP needed. Singles Mingle is on a mission to get singles off of dating apps and out meeting one another in person. They promise a fun and relaxed environment, making it easier for you to connect with other like-minded singles. And guess what? Face-to Face conversations work! Don’t forget to get your wristband upon entry!

Meet some of the dogs up for adoption at OAS. As of  Thursday, April 10, they have 73 big dogs in the shelter which puts them at capacity. If you can’t adopt right now, ask the crew how you can volunteer for the shelter. The dogs will love you!

As we anticipate the beginning of spring,  a bowl of chili might just warm you up on these colder March days. It’s served with melted cheddar cheese, green onion and tortilla chips. Or how about those Green Eggs & Ham – honey smoked ham, green onions and pepper jack cheese –  all drenched in salsa verde?

And don’t forget they serve their  Brunch menu on Saturday and Sunday which includes:

  • Rudy’s Heartache – Their famous corned beef hash topped with 2 eggs any style and house-made hollandaise sauce. Garnished with green onion and served with choice of toast
  • And many more delights including the Oaksterdam Benedict – English muffin topped with sautéed spinach, mushrooms, 2 poached eggs, home-made hollandaise sauce and garnished with green onion.

SHOP. Peruse 75 vendors selling records, music memorabilia, instruments, vintage clothing, tiki/Hawaiiana, handmade jewelry, books, and more.

LISTEN. Get the vibe as you experience the ‘surftastic’ sounds of bands Par Avion (LA), The Starhoppers (Ferndale), Frankie and the Pool Boys, The Crab Shack Shakers (Johnny Bartlett & members of Ogres), and The NovaRays.
