About Sarah Kobrinsky

Sarah Kobrinsky  was born in Canada, raised in North Dakota, seasoned in England, and tempered in California. Sarah was named the 2013-2015 Emeryville Poet Laureate and Poetry in Motion was one of her robust programs executed during her tenure that delighted bus riders in Emeryville. Each month cards with poems were placed on the Emery- Go-Round for folks to read as they traveled through Emeryville.  Sarah and her husband have their own unique line of handmade porcelain dinnerware showcased in their studio/shop in Emeryville called Jered’s Pottery. She has also authored and published a book of poetry, “Nighttime on the Other Side of Everything.”

*According to the Poetry Foundation, an ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning.

The Experience, Richmond: Riggers Loft Wine Co.

The Experience: Lighting up the Tasting Room on the Bay!

Riggers Loft Wine Co. is thrilled to be given the green light to open up inside at 25% capacity. This is truly wonderful news for everyone. “It’s great for our visitors to have the option of sitting inside or out now,” says Barbara Brown, vp and assistant winemaker. “Our protocol will, of course, continue to be strictly applied, especially as the colder weather returns and we are more inside than out. We will continue to offer outdoor seating as long as the weather is good. Make a reservation now!”

Their strict COVID protocol inside has seating areas socially distanced by at least 10 feet, as they do out on their patio. When you walk inside, it feels safe because the space is huge, has very high ceilings, and everyone is following protocol. And strings of sparkly lights caress the rafters, giving you a warm welcome.  “Our continued use of face masks is critical for staying open,” continues Barbara. “Outside on the patio, we have allowed folks to take off their masks when seated at their own tables. Though we have very good ventilation, inside we ask that you leave your mask on and take it off only when actively eating or drinking. We appreciate your understanding!”

Music is still happening out on the patio through the end of October. Beginning in November, our musicians will move inside, separated from visitors, but still  playing to their audience. And you must eat while sipping your wine or cider! The Arlington’s California cuisine includes Flat Bread Pizza, a Mediterranean Plate, a Grilled Chicken Quesadilla, a lovely Charcuteries Platter and more including, the ultimate Ghirardelli Chocolate Brownie! Advanced reservations are highly recommended during music events. [email protected] / 508-692-8414
