We all heard it the minute the Blue Angels arrived in Oakland on Sunday evening to launch San Francisco Fleet Week! The Blue Angels are based at the Oakland International Airport (OAK) for the second year in a row. It is expected that their base of operation will continue to be in Oakland for the foreseeable future.
Temporary Home at Oakland Airport
An estimated 11 million spectators view the squadron during air shows each year. Will you be one of the tens of thousands watching in the Bay Area? Here’s the schedule:
Thurs., Oct. 8, 1- 5pm – Airshow practice (North Field)
Fri., Oct. 9, 2:55 – 4pm – Airshow flights (North Field)
Sat., Oct. 10, 2:55 – 4pm – Airshow flights (North Field)
Sun., Oct. 11, 2:55- 4pm – Airshow flights (North Field)
Mon., Oct. 12, 10am – Blue Angels departure (Main Runway)
The mission of the United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron is to showcase the pride and professionalism of the United States Navy and Marine Corps by inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country through flight demonstrations and community outreach.
