The Experience:

Performing Arts Celebrate Alameda’s West End

Friday, October 15th 5-8pm

Rhythmix Island City Waterways ArtWalk returns to celebrate the unique character of Alameda’s West End with live music and dance from Zimbabwe, Colombia, Oakland, and Alameda featuring Mbira dzaSoko, Los Bahianatos, Bryan Dyer, and Youth Expressions of Unity through the Arts.

West End

From the marshlands and forests of the Chochenyo, Muwekma and Ohlone people, to railroads, bathing resorts, saloons and tattoo parlors; from Neptune Beach, the Aerodrome and the Naval Air Station to the large-scale commercial and housing developments we see today, Alameda’s West End has always been home to a vibrant mix of people, cultures and traditions.

Rhythmix Island City Waterways Art Walk: West End celebrates where we came from, where we are today, and where we’re going, with live performances of music and dance from Zimbabwe, Colombia, Oakland, and Alameda. The ArtWalk is intended to invigorate the streets with vitality and recognition of Alameda’s ever-changing West End.

Rhythmix Island City Waterways ArtWalks are presented in partnership with the City of Alameda, West Alameda Business Association ,and West End Arts District. Special thanks to the Webster Street Al Fresco Dining Park, Feathered Outlaw and Pacific Pinball Museum.

As always, Rhythmix ArtWalks are FREE and family-friendly!
